The official account of the China Embassy in Kingdom of the Netherlands had some happy news to share on July 15. A baby born to giant pandas "Wuwen" and "Xingya" turned a 100-day-old on August 8. To share the excitement brought by this birth, Ovihans Zoo will allow public to name the little bundle of joy. People can vote to choose their favourite name. The baby panda is still in the delivery room with its mother, Wuwen, and the gender is unknown, but five universal names each for a male and a female baby have been shortlisted by the authorities. The results of the vote will be announced on August 14.

On May 1, Wuwen gave birth to a panda cub, the first baby panda to be born abroad this year. "I can't say how happy I was when the baby panda was born. This is the good news that all of us were expecting for a long time. I'd like to congratulate the giant panda's nurses. Because of their patience and professionalism, this baby panda can be bred and born in a natural way,” said a proud Marcel Bockhon, the head of the zoo.
